Review on πŸ’» Cocopar J173UH10F Portable Monitor: 4K 3840X2160 IPS, Lightweight 17.3 by Stephen Pryor

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Expensive but worth it.

I bought this monitor because I needed to make the most of the space I had at a small standing desk. I got rid of the 24" 1920x1080 monitor and replaced it with this 17" 4K monitor and am very happy. I'm about 2 feet from this monitor and I can use it at 175% magnification and get 4 windows of useful information that I can see clearly. On a 24-inch 1080P monitor I was able to view a window and a half and text looked jagged. It's much easier on the eyes to have crisp text without blurring or jagged letters. There's a big jump in price if you go 17-inch and 4K versus smaller screens and lower resolutions, but in my case the utility was worth the extra cost. Other things I like are the brightness and the matte finish of the display. The monitor comes with many accessories/cables. With the included power supply you can increase the brightness up to 10, which gets really bright. I use it in a very bright room full of windows and light and use it on level 9 - level 10 is almost too bright for me indoors. If you don't connect an additional power supply it can still be used by simply powering your computer via the USB -C connector power, but the brightness will only increase to 4 or 5. This is still enough for indoor use without much outdoor light, but has been toned down to try to use it outside. The only problem I had was trying to get it to work using the Surface Dock. For some reason I was having trouble getting the monitor to work in-line with the dock's video output. At first I thought it was a problem with the monitor but when I plugged it directly into my computer it worked perfectly so for now I blame the docking station as the monitor was fine in the computer's output. Regarding the service, I had an issue with my monitor showing a blue screen and I called the phone number on the card that came with the package. Someone answered after a few calls and when I explained what I needed help with, they were able to help me resolve the issue effectively. There was also a choice of 4 bonus items to claim when you sign up for the 3 year guarantee. I opted for the AC adapter that was offered, but they gave me a link to Revain saying it was out of stock and gave me a $30 credit to my PayPal account instead. All in all, I highly recommend this monitor. It was exactly what I needed.
