I attached them to the bottom of each corner of a 18" x 24" (50 lb) marble slab used to make candy. This slab is usually installed on a granite countertop when used. These bumpers are perfect for this application. It raises the slab high enough to grab and move it when needed, while still leaving enough space between the surfaces to protect them from each other. The bumpers still fit the plate snugly and are just the right amount for the surface it sits on to prevent it from moving during use. You can easily carry the weight of the board. I highly recommend these bumpers. I know they are specifically designed for doorstops and I'm sure they will do well in that role. It turns out they're also great for adding extra protection to whatever you want to put on the surface you're protecting. I will buy them again when I have something of significant size or weight to place on a table, countertop, shelf, wooden floor, etc. Factory, electronic device. all kinds of applications.
