Review on 🌾 Warm and Natural Cotton Batting Review: 72x90 Twin Size by Warm Company Batting 2391 by Kelly Caballes

I'm so glad I chose cotton!

I am making my first quilt. I was about to order some polyester batting, but a friend (and experienced quilter) advised me to buy a small amount from Walmart first (part for quilting, part for quality control). She told me to use cotton but I've read that synthetic would be warmer. I took a small amount of synthetic cotton and tried to practice with it, and ended up ordering warm cotton for my real blanket. Here's my comparison: Synthetic (NOT this product): The thickness of the batting varied widely - very thin in places (according to reviews) and puckered at the creases. this thickening has not been corrected. It felt like the batting was rolled in layers (like pillows do) and I could tear the batting into pieces very easily. It also made cutting difficult. The entire sheet was translucent. Warm and Natural (THIS product): It's like a blanket in itself - non-translucent and of the same thickness throughout. Thin enough to be easy to work with, but snug and obviously very WARM! It would be impossible to tear it in half with your hands, and with sheets it is easy to cut, like any other thick fabric. I AM SO HAPPY I listened to my friend and got the applause. It was the same price as synthetic, easier to work with, and obviously MUCH better quality.

Pros
  • Quilting
Cons
  • Very expensive
