This is an everyday item in our house. We have hardwood floors and this rug is enough cushion for our baby to fall over as he learns to crawl. The side pieces aren't strong enough to really hold down a violent child, but they make fun shapes to build fortresses out of. Bonus: Our little one loves these toys as teething toys, especially the starfish. The tips of the star are just the right size for a child's mouth and it's easy for them to hold a piece.
