I'm using this Type-C to VGA adapter to connect a 2017 21" iMac to a Mitsubishi HDTV. This is useful as the iMac's 4K color space is different than the TV's, which gives a difference in video production. This allows me to display the videos I create on both my TV screen and my computer screen. The only drawback is the missing screw holes for attaching the VGA adapter. I fixed this with the help of rubber bands (see photo) I'm not sure if rubber bands are necessary as the connection is very tight and unlikely to come loose.
