Limited options to add modern HDMI 1080p (or even DVI) to an older PC Add that does not have an HDMI/DVI or USB 3.0/USB-C port. This was the case in my case as the 3rd gen i5 all-in-one I had was still working fine and I wanted to add a new 24/27 inch monitor. This product fills that need very well. VGA connection I could try this first, but VGA is analog even at 1080p and is prone to ghosting/"static" or other issues and I could still end up with it (DVI is digital and it would work). The adapter uses the DisplayLink protocol, which is very well supported on Windows 10 (yes, most Win7/8 computers can still be upgraded to Win 10 for free in 2021). Displaylink based devices (at work we've tried J-create and others that 'cast' and the latency is totally unacceptable). While they "work" or say "backwards compatible with 2.0" - NO, they just give you the very unacceptable 800x600 resolution.
