Review on ๐Ÿงด Efficient Simplehuman Stainless Sanitizer Dispenser Brush: Keep Your Hands Clean! by Andargie Marquez

Not necessarily better than the previous generation.

I always look forward to new simplehuman sensor pumps because I have them all over the house. I currently have the previous generation, simplehuman 8 oz. The soap sample sensor pump, white, and the six I have in my house have been working great for almost 2.5 years now. This new model weighs 9 ounces while mine weighs 8 ounces but first impressions are wow! more than my 8oz model. It's quite wide and imposing, although on the other hand the build quality has improved a lot. No more flip top that feels like it's going to break every time you open it - now it's a fully removable and heavy top lid. For a device this large, however, it's surprising that it only packs an extra ounce of soap. If you turn the device over, you can see on the transparent base how little space in the pump is actually used for the soap container - about half. The rest is a plastic funnel (probably hiding the battery) into which the soap is poured. I don't understand why you need a funnel. Also of note is that the color is more reminiscent of brushed nickel than brushed stainless steel. Definitely a copper engraving. Think of it as "brushed, nickel-plated stainless steel" (that's the best description I can give). The charging cable is a bit unusual. It's not uncommon for it to be magnetic now. Only the contacts are completely bare. Simplehuman says this sensor is IP67 rated (so you can rinse it), but it remains to be seen how well these pins will hold up. It's entirely possible to have magnetic charging without exposed contacts, so maybe we'll see that in the next model. Also new to this model is the ability to place your hands in different places along the sensor on the front to see how much soap is coming out. In theory, that's a good idea. However, it's actually quite difficult to get your hand in the exact right spot to get the exact amount of soap you want, and I miss my adjustable button models like the previous generation. To get a small amount of soap, you need to bring your hand to the pump body very close to the dispensing orifice. A couple of times I nearly knocked the thing over or hit the dosing head. None of these things are good. And the final downgrade from the previous generation is that you can no longer see how much soap you have in the dispenser. I really like that with my previous generation of simplehuman I can see at a glance how much soap is left on the back. Get ready to be surprised by this model if suddenly X weeks/months later the soap doesn't come out. You can, however, lift the pump and lift the plastic base up a ladder to find out, but. Yes. no I see no reason why there wasn't a clear slot at the bottom of the back of this pump to show you how much soap is left. Possibly the next model. In general, the pump is not bad. It works much like the last-gen model, with some "improvements" (depending on how you look at things). But really, the only positive thing I can say with absolute certainty is that it definitely feels premium. I just want its function to match that sentiment. 3.5 out of 5. Good.
