The thread was too far from the end of the filter where you screw it onto the supply line Removed the washer to see if that was my problem and then it had enough room in the socket to screw in filter yes, of course it leaked, but confirmed the problem. The only problem is that after the connection was made the leak, even though it was a filter, came out a lot of black stuff which I take for granted was carbon in the line and in my RV. Removed the filter together and spent 30 minutes flushing all the dirt out of the camper van's plumbing ie sink, tub and kettle. I'm only giving 1 because the review made me rate it.
