M. Scott. You don't know what you're talking about. I've been using radar detectors since the 70's. That's 40 years old. They only got better and better as the police upgraded their equipment. I've upgraded my gear many times and it's safe to say that as a traveling salesman I regularly drove 40,000 miles a year and my detector saved me too many times to count. Cities make tons of money from unsuspecting motorists driving 35 cars at 25 miles per hour. LIDAR is tricky, and if you don't want to get a ticket, make sure you have a scout in front of you so you can be notified and react if you're hit by the laser. Now the idiots at the FCC have, for the past few years, allowed automakers to build cars with blind spot monitoring, using low-level radar signals that emanate from their car bumpers, driving the old detectors crazy. So now it's time for a new one with BSM filtering. Stay tuned and you won't pay $350 for a ticket and your insurance won't increase by 20% over the next 39 months.
