As explained on the box, the adapter accepts 4k input but only outputs 1080p. Which is clearly a scam. So yes. It's also quite a delay. I use it to access raspberry pis and jetsons along with a usb switch so no problem here. If you're streaming a Switch, this is probably a good choice too. But I can't give more than 1 star to a misleading product as a matter of principle.
