Our young, large, active dog had an emergency exam that required a large incision down the abdomen. He's naturally clumsy, which is why the Cone of Shame was a nightmare for 24 hours before it arrived. We left it about 80% inflated so he could rest his head comfortably when he lay down and he put it on straight away. It is also so compact that there was no problem with it. To be honest, I think he was a bit sad when he had to go without the built-in pillow!
