This smoothed out the water in my RV which was pulsing at pump frequency prior to installation. Easy to install, the pump had to move a bit to work with the hose guide, but that's not the fault of the item. With the pump running there is still a slight increase and decrease in pressure, with the pump running the pressure will increase slightly, then the pressure will decrease as the pressure in the tank decreases until the pump starts up again. I didn't time it, but I estimate it reduced my pump's duty cycle by up to 50% compared to 100% before installing the tank. This causes the pressure switch to wear out faster, but the pump will last longer. Since the pressure switch on my pump is good, I'm fine with that. The included barbs for the 1/2" FNPT fittings are a nice addition, but it would be even better if the hose clamps were included. This is why the item lost a star. Luckily I had food-grade hose and clamps at home ., so there was no need to run to Lowe.
