Review on πŸ”‘ FIDO U2F Security Key: Thetis Aluminum Folding Design - A Universal USB Two Factor Authentication Solution for Enhanced Protection on Windows/Linux/Mac OS, Gmail, Facebook, Dropbox, SalesForce, GitHub. by Fernando Wolford

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Efficient, convenient, a bit weak

My employer forces me to use a second factor to log into the store system in case my ID and password are stolen. This is the least annoying option, the worst being accepting the cell phone ringback every time you log into a corporate system. This is the modern internet. It works great with Google Chrome and the FIDO Alliance authentication software that secures the website. Installing Ubuntu Linux 16.04 is esoteric (requires its own 'udev' rule), Windows was automatic. It goes well with my keychain. Part of the plug broke off after three days - the plastic is too thin. But it still works, and now the open end of the plug can become a safer part as long as the plug is not inserted into the USB socket. -- Addendum: The seller saw the above review and offered to replace the key due to breakage, which I accepted. I reserve the right to make a replacement until the original becomes unusable. I upgraded the rating to five stars because of the seller's support and also because the physically broken one still works in daily use. It hangs on my belt belt along with other "keys" and I use it once or twice almost every weekday. It's much easier than using a cell phone callback, which was my other option for a second login factor at my employer.
