I first saw this camera when my friend was using it in Sturgis. His shots, taken in all sorts of difficult conditions, turned out great. Before I bought this Kodak 1285 I searched the internet, stores and websites for a camera that might be a better deal but couldn't find one! The 5x zoom combo (plus an optional 5x digital zoom) was best in class. But when you add an unprecedented 12MP, nothing else comes close unless you upgrade to an SLR-sized camera. I already have an amazing 35mm SLR, but because of its size I rarely carry it with me. This camera fits in a pocket or a small fanny pack and has been with me almost every time since I bought it. It also has the advantage of using AA batteries instead of rechargeable internal batteries. I use rechargeable AAs and have been using the first pair for a month now without replacing them. And should I ever find myself in a situation where my batteries are low, I can always use the standard AA batteries that are readily available! This camera is easy to use, has several "smart" modes, but can still be set manually. It's versatile, easy to use, takes AMAZING pictures in most conditions, and best of all, affordable. The only other cameras I could find that even came close to performing were $50 to $100 more. BUY IT! YOU WILL LOVE IT!
