Review on πŸ”Œ AntiBreak Ediabas Cable for BMW R56, E87, E93, E70 by Bruce Willam

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works fine showing data and errors for 2001 E46

I used standard BimmerGeeks tools in a Windows 10 virtual machine on my Dell 5530 laptop running Ubuntu Linux and this cable. Installation was fairly easy (using the BimmerGeeks.txt Installation Instructions file) and after a bit of experimentation I was able to connect. No luck with the included software CD. The cable switch didn't seem to make any difference in this setup for the E46 (BMW 330Ci 2001) but ended up with the switch facing the cable connector on the left below. You will get some error messages from the software which can be ignored. At first I thought it was a cable, but turns out things like language or version errors can be ignored, and if you see "no controller response" that means the part doesn't exist, the cable is fine. I was able to successfully diagnose, replace and test the DSC module on my vehicle. By software my motor is M54 but I had to choose M43 as M54 didn't fit. For DSC I chose chassis, then DSCMK60. Press F1 for info, F4 for errors and F5 for wheel sensors, DSC (steering angle, yaw rate, etc.) and so on. Some useful information from sensors while driving is pretty cool. All in all not the best software, especially with annoying language and version errors, but usable. The cable is fine, works as advertised and appears to be well made. Would recommend.
