Better than expected

This was the best product for the price. Used to setup my 335i with msd software. They warned that installing a cheap cable could take 45 minutes. However, this one can change cards in less than 2 minutes! excellent boo

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Problem

Garbage. Dirty connections.

Troubleshooting why INPA won't connect. I noticed that it detects when I connect/disconnect. I had to tighten the OBD connector and cable just right to make the connection, the standard code reader is fine. Obviously bad soldering or bad assembly. sent back.

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • Some bugs

There was a virus on the supplied disc.

Cable suitable for connection to BMW OBD for programming. The diskette supplied with the communications program contained a Trojan and a tracking virus. Not cool. UPDATE: Doesn't work for flash modules, only works for INPA and NCS encoding. If you try to use this cable for firmware, the module will be "bricked".

Pros
  • High-quality workmanship
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Powered by E39 for tools and equipment

Vehicle: 2003 BMW E39 525i This cable ensures correct communication with the BMW E39 via the OBD2 port. I used Evan Goyuk's YouTube video as a guide to installing the software. I also used the INPA software mentioned in this video. It worked the first time. I was able to communicate with the transmission module via this cable, view the errors and correct them.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Not the best

Works great (2008 E90)

I was a little hesitant to buy such a cheap cable when famous brands like Bimmergeeks charge twice as much for the same cable. I used it to code my adaptive headlights (one of the modules is water damaged so it stops working and gives an annoying error message that won't go away). I haven't used the software included on the CD, so I can't say if it works or not. But Windows 10 found the driver and installed it automatically. NCSExpert connected directly to my machine without any problems. No…

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Communication with seller

Works fine showing data and errors for 2001 E46

I used standard BimmerGeeks tools in a Windows 10 virtual machine on my Dell 5530 laptop running Ubuntu Linux and this cable. Installation was fairly easy (using the BimmerGeeks.txt Installation Instructions file) and after a bit of experimentation I was able to connect. No luck with the included software CD. The cable switch didn't seem to make any difference in this setup for the E46 (BMW 330Ci 2001) but ended up with the switch facing the cable connector on the left below. You will get some…
