Review on Lavanila 2 Pack - The Healthy Deodorant Set: Aluminum-Free, Vegan, Clean, Natural, Pure Vanilla, Vanilla Lavender (2 x 2 oz Deodorants) by Shelly Day

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Super soft, good ingredients (listed below), works great all day but vanilla turns to musky

-- Pack of TWO - 1 Lavender Vanilla, 1 Vanilla. "Vanilla Lavender" has no particular smell. It is light, pleasant, but hardly noticeable. However, it works. "Vanilla" has a more pronounced odor and is initially pleasant. I find it's a powdery scent with a touch of something different. Other ingredients can affect the flavor profile. Overall I like it, but I wouldn't buy vanilla again** (note below). Check out the ingredient list below - NO synthetic flavors are used. The container is impressive. It has weight; has high quality optics. No baking powder is used. I really can't use deodorants that contain baking soda as they tend to irritate my skin. This is a good option for me and I'm glad I chose it. I like it. Very soft so far. My skin chemistry responds well to this type of deodorant. I don't usually smell much, so I can't say if this is for everyone. I can use this once and I'm fine all day. I'm an active person. NO deodorant is an antiperspirant UNLESS it contains aluminum. Aluminum is the ONLY ingredient that can block sweat glands. There may be ingredients that help absorb sweat, but none of them CLOSE sweat. I always mention this because there will always be someone who will say that a product doesn't block sweat when it clearly says "no aluminum". Some of the solid deodorants in this genre can be a bit tricky. This is usually overcome by allowing the product to touch the skin for a few moments before gliding over the skin (or applying to the hand and then onto the body) as it takes body heat to melt it enough to glide on. It's already slipping. Very smooth and silky. I think it can also be used on the body. I can try it, especially since it gets really velvety soft. ** Overall I think it works very well. After that I have a different taste. I just don't like vanilla. At first the smell is pleasant but later throughout the day I can smell it (at least I know it works) but it has a more perfumed smell. Slightly musky vanilla. I think this is how it starts: Some vanilla used in skincare ends up being musky but probably masked by other ingredients, and then when the product breaks down the true flavor of the vanilla used comes out. That's why I don't like this scent. I almost have a headache because it smells like it does at the end of the day. I kept sniffing my holes trying to figure it out. BLEG. But guess what, the deodorant itself is good, and a different version of it might suit me better. So I can tell that lavender-vanilla is not as pronounced. been a while and I have another deodorant to use but I would check again in a different scent and would recommend if you like that type of deodorant. Not a favorite but so far so good in terms of performance. Your website is informative.
