Since my home was connected to a smart electricity/gas meter I have noticed a noticeable increase in my electricity consumption and bills. I found out about the energy saving "smart" power strip and thought this was one of the many ways I could use to reduce transient power consumption. It is used in my home office and allows my non-essential electronics to shut down completely when my computer turns off or goes to sleep. It works! This can also be used for home entertainment.
