Review on Valley Climbing Chalk Bag: Versatile Gear for Climbing, Bouldering, Gymnastics & More! by Matt Hamilton

. Compare it to but for the price it seems great. I no longer use a harness like I used to.

This is my first chalk bag so I don't have anything to compare it to but for the price it looks great. I don't use a belt as I only used it for bouldering at the gym. There are two pockets, one holding my smartphone (with a large case) and the other holding my keys and a roll of sports tape so I can keep them handy. Gym chests are outside of some areas and can be prone to theft, so it's nice to have a place to store my valuables where I can keep an eye on them while climbing. I love that the chalk bag is reusable and comes with chalk so you don't have to buy anything. I haven't used any other types of chalk, so I can't comment on their relative quality, but it's fine chalk and makes a world of difference compared to not using it. My hands tremble a lot less and I can climb longer because I can grip rocks better. When I first received the bag, I pulled the clasp and it wouldn't close at the top. Because the inner loop has slipped off the inner fleece bag to be closed. This was easily remedied by undoing the cord and pulling the fleece liner out all the way so that the cord was positioned around the perimeter of the bag. Then I put the liner back in place and tightened it. Perfectly locked. Because it was such a simple and obvious solution, I still give it 5 stars.

Pros
  • NEW and improved version with strong stitching, stiffer rim, brush loop (brush not included) and durable ABS plastic buckle with thin waist belt.
Cons
  • Great price
