Quality product with clear instructions requires little assembly

I saw a lot of positive reviews on this steering wheel cover and thought maybe people liked it because of the relatively low price - what a bang for your buck. I found the quality to be actually high, period. I am very impressed with the look, feel and finish of the leather. The holes punched along the edges for sewing are precise, and the stitching that joins the two ends into a loop is neat and strong. I chose size M for my 2015 Subaru Forester Premium wheel based on sizing information from the Wheelskins website. It fits well although it was VERY tight to get around the steering wheel rim. At first I wasn't sure it would fit, but when I squeezed it hard it looked closer to the factory and felt great. I was optimistic about how long the installation would take and it ended up taking just over 2.5 hours. I used a loop stitch and it worked well, although it was difficult to tighten each stitch and keep enough thread tension when making the next stitch. You have to pull the thread very hard to bring the inside edges together and I wish I had pulled my thread a little tighter. It comes with clear instructions, two needles and enough thread to make an entire wheel with a buttonhole stitch. The thread is strong and smooth. It doesn't cut my fingers too much and I didn't break it. The skin didn't tear or pucker when I pulled the stitches tight. I like the end result very much. The steering wheel feels surprisingly better than before (no leather on the original steering wheel). This case gives a little padding without being soft and feels great. I worked hard to avoid gaps around the spokes and in the end the gaps were minimal, although that's an expected issue with a finish that isn't precisely cut for a specific car model. I had a Wheelskins cover on my last car which I installed and used, removed and then reinstalled. From what I remember the skin on it was a bit thicker and the stitches were bigger. YMMV, but still I like this one a little better. This one had plastic reinforcing strips along the rows of threaded holes, this one didn't, but I haven't had any problems with tearing or stretched holes on this one. If you are realistic about the time and effort required to install and what results you can expect, I don't think you will find a better hubcap for this type of wheel. I am very impressed.
