It didn't work at first and that's what I did to fix mine.

When I put both batteries in for the first time, it didn't light up. I put them in the correct order. Then I thought, well, to check if the batteries really work, take them out of the case and put them in like this. It didn't work so I put them in the sleeve so that one side is positive and the other side is negative (in this case the blank side). Then I put the batteries in as instructed in the document with the negative side towards you and it glowed.
