They are made of aluminum and are not suitable for normal clothing use. Too bad I didn't do my due diligence - I needed upholstery buttons. Having not bought self adhesive button sets in 20 years I assumed it would be the style/quality I am used to. Not even close. Aside from being aluminum, their construction hardly withstands any tension applied to the stock without the rear end loosening.
