This is my second GasKnight and I am proud of it. The first replaced Kidde, who was giving me more false alarms than I was comfortable with, so the socket and mounting screws were already in place. The second generation Gas Knight makes initial installation even easier. I knew the area I had to serve around the natural gas heater. I plugged the power adapter into an appropriate outlet so it could connect to my wheelchair's charger. I routed the cable up the wall to the maximum height and secured it with the double-stick pad that came with it. I used the entire cable and it resulted in a perfect fit following simple instructions. No tools and very little time are required to do a professional looking job. I trust my life (and also my dog) to this gas mask because I suffer from Parkinson's disease. It destroyed my sense of smell. (If skunks were deadly, I'd need a skunk detector, too.) Almost all of us lose our sense of smell as we age, but the deterioration is so gradual that we hardly notice it until one day you get tested. I knew I was in trouble, but I would recommend this inexpensive security supplement to anyone just to get some extra margin. GasKnight looks so attractive that I show it to my friends. I hope my friends will follow my example. Friends are worth protecting too.
