I only had the kettle 2 weeks before I had to send it back. Spout and lid are made of stainless steel. The seam of the top began to leak as the water boiled, causing water to spill onto the front of the kettle, onto the counter and onto the electric heating element. When I remove the kettle from the heating element, there is a considerable puddle of water. The water dried on the hot glass causing significant water stains. It had to go. It looked dirty and flooded my counter. Better look for another model.
