I bought these for communication with my wife on our 15 acre property in the woods, primarily for alerting each other in the event of a bear sighting. My wife walks on the property alone and does not like to have me following her every step, so this is a simple alternative to keep in touch. I have a music and art studio some distance from the house, so this also provides a quick way to communicate.The units work perfectly, and are simple to operate. I leave them on all the time, and the batteries last for quite awhile. These are perfect for keeping an eye on elderly folks also, as well hiking, etc. I highly recommend them. Good range too.
