My son is 9 years old but he is very tall and slim. I bought him 8 and they fell right to the floor as soon as he put them on but luckily they have an adjustable waist otherwise he wouldn't be able to put them on. The vest fitted perfectly and I simply paired it with a bow tie and long sleeve with buttons.
