Electrical connection not quite right

Appears to be really good quality and the fit is good - except for the motor power connection. See photos - the original has two extra contacts and the body is much larger. After a bit of fiddling I found that the three pins in the replacement match the three in the original, but when connected the motor only rotates about an axis opposite the guide on the door handle. I wish the photos of the Revain showed the connector as it would save a lot of time.
