Review on Enhance Your Flight Sim Experience with Thrustmaster TCA Quadrant Airbus Edition (Windows) by Albina Bloom

Revainrating 4 out of 5

A bit of realism for an Airbus plane.

I like the Airbus joystick. Therefore, obtaining the TCA quadrant was not difficult. I admit that my digital Airbus experience is extremely limited and I mostly fly single engine aircraft. How does this quadrant add to the joystick's already excellent performance? Well, as I've found, it really depends on what you fly most. The quadrant itself is made out of some kind of durable plastic and is fairly light. Although I would like a heavier base. The keys are mostly pressed and responsive. The switches are plastic, but they seem to hold up under heavy use. The throttle has resistance options, although I would have liked a little more resistance as sensitivity can be turned off most of the time. Dual throttle levers can also be linked so they can be used as levers for a single engine. The quadrant connects separately from the flash drive using a USB-C to USB-A cable of sufficient length. I like that this is a plug and play device as Windows and MS Flight Simulator recognized it immediately. Since I enjoy sightseeing drives best on the C152 or C172, I honestly find that the joystick throttle works better. Even after lots of experimentation with sensitivity, button assignments, and quadrant throttle control, I found it awkward and imprecise. Again I focused on the main planes. But now that I'm working on more complex aircraft like the Airbus, this quadrant has become extremely valuable. Although the options (both physical and in-game) still needed tinkering, it seemed more natural to me and the Quadrant felt the need after a few flights. However, I would like the quadrant to be more stable as increasing the throttle could tip it over. I ended up using a board and glued the base to it. Finally, if you fly small, single-engine planes, this could be a pass, especially if you already have a good throttle stick (or don't mind). with keyboard/mouse). However, if you fly anything with throttle or twin engine aircraft, especially an Airbus, this accessory is a must have. I might even consider filling the entire quadrant with other components.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • too stupid
