The first impression is not everything.
I bought this door in May. When I took it out of the box I was so excited. It looked great, was sheltered from the wind and let the dogs in. Worked great. About 3 months later, the outer lobe was the first. I have three dogs and yes they go in and out a lot but this is a dog door. Now late November and the second flap gave way and broke off. So it's cold now and all I have is a lockable metal door and I have to let it in and out manually. :-( A door I used to be able to open in high winds but never broke. I'm really sad because the door has been AMAZING for about 3 months. But at this price I wouldn't want to have to change it 4 times a year .
