Some people really screw it up on YouTube reviews and stuff like that. yes they are expensive This is B&O. High prices, but super-premium workmanship and sound are special. It's not an overdriven bass sound, yes you can crank up the bass if you want, but it won't be that overwhelming bass. This is clean, punchy, balanced bass. B&O always seems to aim for the reference-quality sound, which I prefer, and it's great for all types of music and podcasts, not just rap. Yes, they don't have ANC. I'm not sure if ANC is that useful for headphones. If you're wearing the included foam tips, this is pretty good passive soundproofing. Gen 3 really improved things. I upgraded and am very happy. Some of the notable improvements: 1. Much better transparency mode. I actually find this very useful when you want to hear people in a room while they're inside. It's so natural you won't feel like pulling them out. Walking with my wife means I can just knock when we stop to chat.2. This results in much better phone call quality. The extra mics really helped.3. I think it's great that you can now take any earphone out of your ear and still listen. In the previous generation, like other brands, there was a master (right) that had to be in the ear to get the sound. The left one can be removed, but if the right and left weren't pointed at each other by the width of the head, the slave would get no signal. You can't leave a kidney in a suitcase, but as long as they're a few feet away, they'll both play. This is important to me when I'm lying in bed as I don't like lying on my ear with a fetus in it. The previous generation didn't allow you to lie comfortably on your right side. It's perfect.4. The battery life is just insane. Something 3-4 times more than the previous model. In terms of quality, same great sound (maybe better), great app for tweaking the sound and getting updates, premium build quality, great case, very comfortable fit (both me and my wife) and they fall during exercise never out. Tap control is consistent and predictable. Kidneys will never sound as good as cans, but they top the scale. I think the only competition I saw was the new Sennheisers in general. If you think ANC is important, I can suggest them. Personally, when I want to use ANC on a plane or car, I still pop my cans in for better sound quality.
