Review on ROYDOM Rotary Food Mill: Hand Crank Stainless Steel Grinder for Vegetable Mash, Tomato Sauce, Applesauce - 4 Stainless Steel Milling Disks - Dishwasher Safe by Patrick Hamman

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I wrote a review about this non-working product and found that the problem was due to human error.

I put the sieve plates in the wrong way round. The sieve plates must be inserted with the convex side facing up. When inserted this way the plates will not rotate and the crankshaft will be long enough to fit through the center hole. This human error could have easily been avoided by providing basic assembly instructions. This meat grinder was delivered without assembly instructions or operating instructions. I received my meat grinder today and am about to return it. I am very disappointed! There are two problems with this meat grinder. Problem #1: The food grinder comes with four sieve plates to produce different food consistencies, but the sieve plates are not fixed in the food grinder body, which creates a problem with the plates rotating when you rotate the cutting blade. The plates must remain stationary to allow cutting action between the blades and the screen plates. Problem #2: Each plate has a center hole that is the same size as the screen holes in the plate with the largest holes. This means if you use one of the three smaller hole plates, the food will be pushed through the larger hole in the center, creating an uneven texture in the food. The center hole in each plate exactly matches the diameter of the crankshaft, but the crankshaft is approximately 1" shorter to fit through the center hole. It looks like the crankshaft needs to go through the center hole to stabilize the knife, but being too short leaves a large center hole for food of the wrong consistency to fit through.
