Open first when you give and wash
I bought 2 of these as a Christmas present for my daughter. I'm very glad I opened the vacuum bag to show my husband as it smelled like the sweaty armpits of a 1,000lb man who hadn't bathed in a month. I washed it twice and it didn't get rid of the smell. I then added lots of detergent and fragrance, soaked them for 24 hours and washed with an extra soak and rinse cycle. After all, I didn't feel sick. I can't imagine what my daughter's reaction would have been if I hadn't cleaned her first.
