I am building an ITX PC with only a 5.25 inch bay. optical drive and memory card reader. This docking station, ultra-slim* CD-ROM drive and 3.5-inch memory card reader are just what the doctor ordered. Hardware, you might want to install a 3.5-inch hard drive, floppy drive (?!) or accessories in the lower bay and an ultra-slim optical drive in the upper bay. The screws to install into your PC are self-tapping and will take some effort to fully tighten. The screw packs are labeled for easy reference. It also includes a well-made adapter for connecting a compact optical drive to a standard SATA power connector. > End caps are available molded from plastic in an excellent and economical way. A 3.5" blank is molded into the plastic between the optical drive bays and the 3.5" bays and fits into a slot in the bottom of the optical drive bay. It is set back slightly from the face of the adapter. You can pull it out when you need it or leave it there when you don't need it. This does not affect the installation of parts. The optical drive blank is molded onto the extension on the back of the adapter. It is inserted from above and ends flush with an artificial disc mark on the front. You CAN remove it for display if your case has a window through which you can easily see the inside of the adapter. Both blanks have a brushed finish to match the front of the adapter.*> The optical bay requires a 9.5mm ultra-thin drive. A "thick" 12.7 mm normal thin disc is not suitable. The 9.5mm disc was a little tight!
