Review on Gorilla Tough Wide Utility 1 Pack by John Clarey

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Extra strong and durable Gorilla

I bought this to splice some rubber floor mats I bought for my garage gym. The rugs are 4 x 8 and 3/8 inch thick and quite heavy. I used tape on the bottom to hold the seams together after flipping them over. I was a bit concerned that the tape would come loose during the flipping process since I was alone and was gluing three rugs together, so I had to flip the 8ft x 12ft rug and it held in place. I placed three strips on each seam with several vertical strips at each end. Now that it's upside down and the tape is pressed against a cement floor with a weight on it, it's holding up very well. Even on wet Michigan days and light rain seeping under the mats, the seams are still tight. I don't see them ever coming loose with the weight continuing to press on the seams. Of course tape has many uses as everyone knows and this material is definitely a cut above the 3M & Duck Tape brands in terms of strength and retention. power in my opinion. Definitely heavier because it's thicker and stickier than other brands, but still tears easily to the length you need. My new option is duct tape.

Pros
  • tape for the toughest jobs on planet earth.
