Overall very happy with these shorts. The style of the boxer shorts was really comfortable and breathable for my child who had skin irritation from the leg openings of regular underpants. The fabric is very soft and the fully closed waistband is much softer. He loves her. Bought a size 3-4 for my 4 year old who is a size small and they fit very well so I would say true to size. There are only two complaints (and reason for removing the star): 1) Some sizing along the leg length. In this set of 6, four were the same length and two were a good half inch shorter. Luckily, my son is comfortable in all of them, but shorter ones tend to outgrow it earlier. 2) Dark blue fabric (onto dark blue with dinosaur pattern) falls off heavily and quickly; after only three or four washes it turns gray and curls a little around the waist. None of the others did. I plan to buy another pack but I could choose a set with all the colors from medium to light.
