I first installed the lamp on a magnetic base in a cupboard with a self-adhesive strip and after about a day it stopped glowing. I reattached it with special double sided tape which is very strong and fell off after about a day. I ended up scraping the surface of the self-adhesive backing and rubbing rubbing alcohol on it, and it stayed attached to the blanket with double-sided tape underneath. The final solution would be to mount the magnet base with a couple of screws through the base where there are circles that appear to be intended for this purpose but are not currently exposed. Seems fairly unreliable unless extra precautions are taken during installation, but otherwise works great - very sensitive to changing light or movement.
