Review on Modway Articulate Ergonomic Office Chair by Todd Casey

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A lot of chair for the money

Update from 09/04/2018 That was about 14 months ago and everything is as good as on the first day. No problem. So far (since assembly 3 days have passed that I use) I am very satisfied with the chair. At first I thought I received an already opened box because the parts weren't packed very tightly and I couldn't find instructions to check if I had all the contents. Looked through the device box, then finally found the instructions under the seat cushion. Everything turned out to be in place and there was no damage. The instructions leave a lot to be desired - for example, the orientation of the armrests, which are slightly different in the front and back, wasn't listed in the instructions at all - so I just went with what I felt worked best. The rest of the assembly was very easy. The biggest question was how tight to tighten the screws that hold the armrests in place. This chair doesn't rock back and forth, but I don't need it when I'm at my desk and working on the computer. I finally have lumbar and back support, unlike other cheap chairs that recline all the time. It's not a $1,000 ergonomic, fully-reclining chair, but it can do a lot. The rollers are very smooth-running, even on carpets (low pile). Some people complained that the armrests were brittle, loose, or broken. Yes, well, if you use them for push-ups and put all your 300 pounds on them when you stand up, well, yes, they might just break off - so don't. I use armrests to support my arms. In general, the purchase is very satisfied, but it is too early. I hope I remember to come back and update this review if there are any major issues. The seat cushion is very comfortable and the mesh is very breathable. The adjustments seem to work very well and feel pretty solid.

Pros
  • There's something in there
Cons
  • That makes me nervous
