Update: I just cut the bristles with scissors because I didn't want to waste them and they work fine now. The bristles are not soft yet, but the feeling of splinters and bleeding gums is gone. I still don't recommend them, but there is a solution for anyone who has this problem. Original: I have NEVER had pain brushing my teeth before using this brush. The bristles are uneven and it feels like millions of tiny shards are moving in your gums when you brush your teeth. I was so excited to try them but I throw them away after 4 days it's so bad. My gums hurt and my whole mouth has never hurt like this. I will have to go to the dentist to make sure I don't permanently damage my mouth with it.
