I'd suggest taking a file and filing down a flat section so the screw has something to push against, as well as create a lip so it doesn't pull off the shaft. A thicker wall would give the screw more purchase, and not strip as easily. I'd buy it again if needed, but would just remember to not try and tighten the screw too much.
