Some experience: no newcomer to riding, repairing bicycles, etc., so more than 50 years of experience in all matters. He even worked in a bike shop for a while. This is the first whistle I have ever received that was completely broken right out of the box. It was painfully discovered, of course, 10 days after his return, and much more painfully, 20 miles from anywhere. I've had cases of valve stems failing - gradually - over time, but I've never seen a fresh tube where the stem releases 35 pounds of air within 5 seconds of "filling up". It pains me to realize now, 50 years later, that I must inspect every pipe I receive upon receipt. Thanks for the valuable lesson, WTB!
