Why mismatch

I have replaced these bulbs 3 times in 2 years. I bought this set expecting them to use it the same way but was disappointed. I used 1 bulb on both arms (elbow to arm only) and when I came back to use them a week later it was time to replace. The second bulb has already outlived the first. Why inconsistency? I use them at the same power level every time.
