As someone who used to work on a $500 perforating machine, my experience wasn't helpful. But DON'T GIVE UP! After some practice (and I mean about 30-40 strokes) I finally figured out how to make perfect buttons. Tip 1: PAPER IS IMPORTANT! Using regular cartridge paper from my printer resulted in a lot of flared punches. I switched to matte photo paper and got better results except for . Tip 2: Don't push too hard on the second hit! This resulted in cut edges. Once I changed the paper I got a full fit around the edges but ended up cutting the metal through the paper. On the second punch I released the pressure and had no more tears. THIS MACHINE REQUIRES PRACTICE! And you just have to get the feeling down. I set little reminders to keep up to date. If you want a simpler experience, you'll have to have it ready for that. This machine is for people who are willing to pay extra attention to saving money.
