Review on ๐Ÿ’ง Culligan R50 BBSA Sediment Replacement Cartridge: Optimal Filtration for Cleaner Water by Chef Buntiloy

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great filter. Inappropriately low ratings.

Let's look at the 1 star reviews first: The company is based in the US but the product is assembled in China. I got 3 of these and they were all correctly R50-BBSA. .The filter element itself cannot really leak, is not torn or anything like that. I installed this bad boy in mid-November after noticing small grains of black sand coming out of the faucet. We have our own well and the water is mostly excellent. A few days later I went and checked it out and you can see from the photo that it does the job! I haven't seen a grain of sand since then. I changed the filter today after 5 months. He was in great shape and could probably have lasted much longer, but it's better to be safe than sorry. No noticeable taste or smell, even when flushing a new filter. Our fridge filters have a much worse taste and smell when they are new. When installing or using this filter or system, be sure to follow the instructions. Do yourself a favor and put a valve right in front of the system. This speeds up the filter change. The seals require lubrication and my filter housing model has a pressure release knob that relieves pressure and makes turning the top valve much easier. Overall, this is a great setup that you can easily do yourself with a little planning.
