A few months ago I bought a Wii game which turned out to be a dual layer disc and my Wii was having trouble reading it. After some research the best solution was to replace the drive and that's how I ended up here. The installation is not difficult but it does require some time, patience and a few tools, with the help of a youtube video I did it in less than 2 hours. The only issue I had was one of the flex cable clips on the new drive broke on one side, luckily it was intact enough to secure and connect the flex cable. After all that, I turned on my Wii, installed the game and everything worked as it should. It's been a few months now and everything seems to be working fine.
