I bought it to install things at home. I only use it once and only use it to find a wooden spike. I couldn't find the stud center with it and was frustrated at first, then I read the manual and applied all the suggestions and steps but still couldn't find the center. But instead of using the center, I used the left and right edges of the hairpin indicated by this hairpin finder and I preserved the center visually. I'm deducting a star for not being able to find the center, but for the price it was a great option for finding a bobby pin, even with a digital level.
