I had a similar mount for my old Garmin GPS. This allowed me to take the GPS with me on trips. I could put my sat nav in rental cars - it has never let me down. When I got my new DVR, I didn't want to limit its placement by adding a metal bracket to the window. I'll admit I like the idea of a metal mount and its miniature, but I'll switch the minimalist look for something more functional. Garmin never fails to impress me with the "usefulness" of their technology.
