RE: The only show in town

Automatic voltage regulator APC LE1200 Line-R 1200VA arrived on the promised delivery date in excellent condition. Considering the size and weight, the price is quite reasonable. Two year guarantee. The APC controller was larger and heavier than expected, which bothered me. Will it fit on my computer desk? I recently discovered that my Chinese made Nobsound 6P1 tube HiFi amplifier requires 110 volt Chinese AC power. I've run it on 120 volts for the past few years and I'm glad it didn't burn out! Chinese companies should put a notice on their electronic products to warn US buyers of this fact! Setting up APC was easy.1. Move the rear selector switch from 120 to 110 volts.2. Connect it to my Power*Comm.3 desktop powerhouse. Connect my Nobsound amplifier to the back of the APC.4. I leave the APC switch in the ON position and control it from the Power*Comm.5 front panel. I use the Nobsound On/Off switch to turn on the Hi-Fi amp. It's big, but I managed to hide the APC box behind my computer monitor. To control the Hi-Fi amplifier1. I turn on my Power*Comm as usual and wait two seconds for the APC relay to read and set the voltage to 110 volts.2. The center white APC power light flashes briefly, the relay "clicks" and the top solid amber light comes on, telling me the voltage is set correctly at 110.3. Then I turn on the amp and off we go! Pretty smooth right? My amp is safe, APC is a champ and I'm happier than a pig rolling in the mud! ;-) Steve Franks
