I love this camera! Started with Olympus C700 with 10x zoom and 2.1 megapixels. Great zoom but very unstable - lots of blurry photos. I returned the camera, and bought this S-3040. Sharpness, color and ease of use are EXCEPTIONAL. I quickly realized that the best way to get well-focused and framed images is to use the display's viewfinder instead of the eyepiece's viewfinder. The eyepiece doesn't look "through the lens" like the C700, so your frame will always be slightly off. But through the viewfinder it's perfect. My photos are rarely blurry. The super bright lens isn't as fantastic as I expected - indoor shots without a flash are still grainy and sometimes washed out. But works very well with internal flash. Great for distance and close-up shots. The automatic mode works very well. Features an easy "custom" setting so resolution, flash, red-eye, etc. can be pre-programmed to work every time you turn the camera on. Light. Writes to disk quickly. Easily view and delete photos. Great camera for the hobbyist!
