Review on Efficiently Tackle Ball Joint Repairs with Astro Pneumatic Tool 7897 Service Tool and Adapter Set by Edgar Gomez

Buy, but be careful.

This ball joint press is a very decent quality tool but it is incomplete. Obviously this is not an OTC or snap-on BJP1 master kit, they could have done better. Pros: C-press and ejector screw threading is extremely smooth. I am very happy about this detail. The C-Press is forged and incredibly heavy. I can't imagine ever flexing this thing unless I'm holding my 1200 foot-pounds. The torque wrench is here forever. Adapters are the same as any other kit. I think they're all just copies of the basic over-the-counter drugs. Good quality. Cons: Case sucks. Very thin plastic. The drawer hole is too small (most of them). I first used it on a Ford Taurus. The included adapters didn't work and the hole was too small. (Astro if you read any of the comments). another), it would be the best kit for twice the price. I was so disappointed that I bought the OTC-6736 and OTC-6730 that I could use these adapters and have a press big enough to hold all of the ball joints. Don't buy this kit thinking you can make any ball joint that goes through the door. Edit: I recently used one of the ball joint adapters on a 2002 f-350. The adapter was machined too thin (1/16-1/8) where the screw is inside. This broke the middle of the adapter. I was able to weld it together and reinforce the center with a weld. Not particularly happy to have to do this.
