After a lot of research, experimentation and some returns, I am very pleased to rate the Hubbell USB outlet as the best USB outlet available from major electrical manufacturers. Here are some of the benefits of this product: First, you get two USBs and two plugs; Second, the front of the vessel is usually aligned with the front panel, while some others protrude beyond it, presumably in an attempt to gain additional internal space (which looks odd when placed next to another vessel); third, it supplies enough power for the USB ports and should adequately power and charge power-hungry devices like the iPad Air; and fourth, like other Hubbell products, everything on this jack is high quality (excellent contacts, solid build, good metal and plastic). There are downsides too. The amount of power that is fed to the USB ports, as well as the presence of two USB ports and two power outlets, means that the device takes up a lot of space in the electrical box. This is probably the largest USB port available (in terms of control box space). There are much thinner USB outputs, but they typically deliver a small amount of power to the USB ports (only good for low-power USB devices and old personal electronics - at least in terms of decent-speed charging). On the plus side, the hot, neutral, and ground screws/clips are positioned so they don't interfere with the free space behind them. Unless your house is relatively new or the room was recently renovated, you probably can't put this guy in an existing box. This outlet is more expensive than most similar devices, but it's another compromise in terms of quality and performance. You also can't power each outlet separately (as would be required to replace an outlet where one outlet is controlled by a light switch and the other is always on). Notice on the 20 amp version of this product. Revane's photo is incorrect at the time of writing. The 20 ampere version contains a neutral T-slot, as is usual for 20 ampere sockets. You would only buy this product in the United States if you specifically need a T-slot neutral or if you are using a 20 amp circuit with only a single outlet, but that's usually the case with an appliance like your refrigerator, where you probably put it on I don't want USB. You *can* plug such 15 amp outlets into a 20 amp circuit (like your kitchen) provided there is more than one outlet on the circuit. This works because outlets are rated for 20 amps even though they are rated for 15 amps. If I remember correctly, this is not the case in Canada - all outlets on a 20 amp circuit must be 20 amp outlets.
